Retro photo editor for iPhone

Retro film looks for your photos.

Give your digital photos an old-school film look, with warm colour and natural-looking grain. Choose one look for a batch or different looks for each photo, then export them together.

Develop your first 36 photos free, then choose optional Unlimited access weekly, annually or with a one-time purchase.

Coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval: 35mm Batch becomes 35mm Retro, with a new Instant look and white framing. The current App Store version is 35mm Batch 1.1, with Golden, Silver and Evergreen.

01

Choose your photos

Bring in photos from Apple Photos, Files or an SD-card folder, or take a photo in the app. Start with the pictures you already love.

02

Pick a vintage film look

In version 1.1, find your mood with Golden, black-and-white Silver or Evergreen. Adjust the strength and grain across your batch or for an individual photo.

Coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval: Instant pairs retro colour and gentle highlight glow with an automatic white frame and deeper bottom margin.

03

Develop in one go

Use the same film look or mix different looks, then develop the photos together. Save new copies to Photos, export to Files or share your finished images.

Made with an analogue heart

Built for the holiday reel, the camera roll and everything in between.

35mm Batch is a vintage photo editor inspired by analogue film. It was made by Russ, who loves shooting 35mm film and wanted a quicker way to bring that feeling to digital photos in bulk. The looks are tuned using his own photographs and favourite film stocks.

Good to know

Your photos. A little film character.

Can I edit photos already on my iPhone?

Yes. Import existing photos, choose one film look for the batch or different looks for each photo. You can compare each preview with its original before developing.

What is free?

In the current version 1.1, your first 36 successfully developed photos include all three film looks: Golden, Silver and Evergreen, plus strength and grain controls. After that, optional Unlimited access removes the allowance limit through a weekly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

Instant and its framing are coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval, and will be included in the same allowance and Unlimited access. The update will not reset your remaining free allowance.

Can I keep the original size?

In version 1.1, choose Original size for new copies, Files or sharing to retain the photo pixels, with JPG or PNG output. Do not use Edit originals in Photos for original-size output in version 1.1.

Original-size reversible JPEG edits, including Instant frames, are coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval. They require Full Access to Photos and an eligible still-photo asset that remains available in Apple Photos. Live Photos need a still-photo copy instead to preserve the original motion. A frame adds canvas around the photo; if a framed export is too large, choose 4000px or smaller. See export-size guidance.

Can I add an instant-photo border?

Instant framing is coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval; it is not available in version 1.1. In 1.2, Instant will include an automatic white frame with a deeper bottom margin. Original or Square fit below Grain will keep the original photo shape or fit the whole photo inside a square image area, without cropping or stretching it.

Do I need an account?

No. Your photos are processed on your iPhone. Purchases are handled by Apple.

Is 35mm Batch becoming 35mm Retro?

Yes. The rename is coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval. The current download is still called 35mm Batch. It is the same app: existing purchases, remaining free allowance and qualifying early-user Unlimited access will carry over.
