35mm Retro
Privacy policy
The rename from 35mm Batch to 35mm Retro is coming in version 1.2, subject to App Store approval. The current published app is 35mm Batch 1.1. References to 35mm Retro in this policy cover that same app under its current and upcoming names.
35mm Retro is developed and operated by Russ K. For support, privacy questions or requests relating to personal information submitted through support correspondence, contact 35mmbatch@gmail.com.
What the app handles
- Photos you choose to import, and photos you capture when you choose the camera feature.
- Your film-look choices, batch selections and the app’s local photo library state.
- Local diagnostic entries such as app actions, errors, iOS version and memory-warning events.
- Your local free-photo count and whether StoreKit reports an active subscription, lifetime purchase or grandfathered access.
How your photos are processed
The current app processes photos on your device. 35mm Retro does not send photos, photo metadata or diagnostics to a developer-operated server, and it does not require an account.
Photos, thumbnails, developed previews and diagnostic files are stored locally by the app until you remove them or delete the app. If Photos needs to make an iCloud item available on the device, that transfer is handled by Apple’s Photos service, not by a 35mm Retro server.
Purchases and access status
Apple processes purchases and subscriptions through the App Store. 35mm Retro uses StoreKit to retrieve localised product information and verify whether the Apple Account has an active subscription, a lifetime purchase or eligibility for grandfathered access. The developer does not receive payment-card or bank-account details. Apple processes purchase information under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
To apply the 36-photo allowance, the app stores the number of successfully developed photos in UserDefaults and the iOS Keychain. It also stores a grandfathered-access flag when Apple’s signed app transaction establishes eligibility. These values remain on the device and are not transmitted to the developer.
When information leaves the app
If you choose to save to Apple Photos, export to Files, share a finished photo or share diagnostics, the destination you select receives the information you send. That destination’s own privacy terms apply.
If you contact support, the email address, message and any attachments you choose to include are sent through your email provider to 35mmbatch@gmail.com. Please do not send private photos or other sensitive information unless it is needed for support.
Permissions
Camera access is used only when you choose Take a photo. Photo-library access is used to import photos you select and, when requested, save or edit photos in Photos. Full Access allows the app to edit originals; Limited Access lets you work with selected photos and save new copies instead. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.
What 35mm Retro does not use
35mm Retro has no account system, in-app tracking, developer-controlled photo upload service, analytics service or third-party crash-reporting SDK. Purchases are offered through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.
Retention and deletion
You can remove imported and developed items from within the app. Removing an item from 35mm Retro does not delete the source photo in Apple Photos. Deleting the app removes its local library, previews, diagnostics and UserDefaults data. iOS may retain Keychain values after the app is deleted, so the free-photo count and grandfathered-access flag may remain after reinstalling. Purchase records are retained and controlled by Apple under Apple’s policies. Copies exported to Photos, Files, email or another service must be removed there.
